Depending on your current situation, you can choose one of five options:

  • Donate a fully paid-up life insurance policy whose initial objective is no longer needed. Designate the Fondation Institut de gériatrie de Montréal (FIGM) as the policy owner and beneficiary to immediately receive an income tax receipt for the policy cash value;
  • Donate an existing policy for which premiums still need to be paid, designating FIGM as the owner, and receive a tax receipt for each premium you pay afterwards;
  • Make a donation by buying a new life insurance policy, designating FIGM as the owner and beneficiary, and receive a tax receipt for each premium you pay afterwards;
  • Remain the owner of your policy and designate FIGM as the direct beneficiary. At your death, your estate will receive a tax receipt for the value of the policy.
